The Power of Positive Thinking

Every day we go through life thinking. Our mind is constantly at work. We can’t help it. Try to sit for even 30 seconds and not think about anything. It’s IMPOSSIBLE! Science tells us that the average person has 60,000 thoughts per day. That’s almost 42 thoughts per minute! Why is it important to know that? Why do my thoughts matter when I’m the only one that hears them? Does it matter if those thoughts are positive or negative? The answer is YES!!!

Everyone has different areas they would like to improve about their life. Maybe it’s a promotion at work, a certain goal they want to accomplish, finding that special someone, or maybe it’s just wanting to improve their health. How and why are our thoughts the most important part to achieving all of these things.

Our thoughts have the power to create feelings within us. Strong feelings will also create emotions or emotional responses. Science has proven that these emotions create energy, or rather, they actually say that emotions are energy in motion. Now here is the important part, the energy that these emotions create generate frequencies. Not excited yet? Just wait.

These frequencies can actually have an influence on our physical body! Dark, negative, and unhappy thoughts will create frequencies that are very low. It has been proven that these low frequencies produce stress hormones, create inflammation, and even lower cognitive function. At the same time, the frequencies from positive, happy, optimistic thoughts have been shown to improve overall health, brain function, and help heal diseases!

There is another very important reason to keep our thinking on a positive track. The energy frequencies created by our thoughts do not just hang around inside our head. It has been proven that these energy frequencies leave our body and are projected into the environment around us! This becomes very powerful when you combine that thought with the laws of physics which state that frequencies will always go out and ATTRACT similar frequencies drawing them back to you. You can see that what you think and how you think draws the same energy back to you. Let’s relate this to fishing, your positive thinking is like a big fat worm which will in turn attract a big fat fish! If you don’t have a worm on that hook, the most you are going to catch is a boot.

In our clinic, we find it very important to understand and appreciate the effect your thought process has on physical disease and healing. We teach all our patients the importance of daily meditation, prayer, or just getting away by yourself and clearing your mind. This can act like a reset button to get yourself back into a positive frame of mind, which is the baseline of all physical healing!

Based on the above information and research, we try to help our patients understand that to regain and maintain health and happiness, you must work on projecting those thoughts out into this world. Don’t absorb what the outside world is projecting at you. Cast out that fat worm sending out high frequencies so you can reel in that big fish you want. Even the bible agrees with this thinking! In Philippians 4:8, “Whatever is true, honest, pure, lovely, of good virtue, and worthy of praise...think on these things.” Again in Proverbs 4:23 (NCV), “be careful and choose our thoughts wisely because our thoughts run our lives.” When you change your thoughts, you change your life, and then you change the world around you.

Let’s get back to those 60,000 thoughts per day. Studies show that 90% of those thoughts for the average person are the same thoughts that we had yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that…you get the picture. If you are in a negative mindset, and 90% of your thoughts are the same as you had yesterday, you can understand the negative spiral that your life could take. Now, imagine if you treated those 60,000 thoughts as 60,000 opportunities! Picture how quickly your entire life could change!

Take time each and every day to send out your positive, optimistic thoughts so you may draw to you the fulfillment of those thoughts. Think of each area of your life and exactly how you would like to see it in six months, one year, five years, and so on. Picture the perfect life and most importantly picture it with FEELINGS! When you attach feelings to your thoughts, you magnify the power and energy of that thought. Thomas Jefferson said, "If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done.” If you like your life, keep thinking the same thing, if you are not happy with any area of your life, change the way you think about it. We have much more power than we think!
